White Papers

What is a White Paper?

"White Paper" is the informal name given to any in-depth report written to educate readers about a problem, situation or policy, so they may make more informed decisions about it.

For example, FutureU CEO Gail Terry Grimes has researched and written a series of four white papers for a hospital client on the crisis in American healthcare. These papers range in length from 12 to 28 pages. For data she conducted interviews with industry leaders and government officials and read everything in sight on the subject. She also drew on more than 30 years of her own experience working with clients in this sector.

In the environmental sector, Gail wrote five white papers analyzing the government's three-volume environmental impact report on Walt Disney's proposed development of Independence in the High Sierra. These papers were serialized in newspapers throughout Northern California, reportedly contributing to the cancellation of this highly controversial large-scale real-estate development project.

Using a similar process, FutureU CIO Claude Whitmyer has researched and written white papers for academic clients on course management software, for government clients on virtual collaboration software, and for business clients on stakeholder development.

Other FutureU associates have written white papers on a range of topics. Research, data analysis, critical thinking, and clear writing are core strengths at FutureU. Whatever the subject, if you need a white paper, we're ready to make it happen for you.
